Story

13:08

This story follows Sa, Re, Ga, and Ma on an unexpected adventure in a park, triggered by the wind carrying away Ga’s cap. As they journey through flowers, water, sky and farmland, children are introduced to different elements of nature and how they coexist Through playful exploration and problem-solving, the story gently builds: Respect for living things (flowers, animals, ecosystems) Awareness of natural elements (wind, water, sun, soil) Understanding of interdependence in nature Comfort and joy in engaging with the natural world Rather than directly instructing, the story allows children to experience nature as a guide, reinforcing the idea: “If you walk with nature, it walks with you.” Aligned with NEP CG06, this story helps children move from curiosity → care → connection, laying the foundation for environmental sensitivity through joyful engagement

Song

02:24

This is a fun and educational song that introduces young children to the basic process of plant growth. Through a step-by-step journey—from planting a seed to adding soil, water and sunlight—the song helps children understand what plants need to grow and thrive With its playful repetition and interactive moments, children learn patience as they see that growth takes time and care. The song also builds curiosity about nature by showing how roots, stems, leaves and flowers develop. Overall, 'Grow, grow, grow, grow' encourages a love for nature, responsibility and environmental awareness, inspiring preschoolers to care for plants and take small steps toward a greener world

Our Recommendation:

Teach the Story & Song across 5 Structured Sessions (at a minimum)

Each Session = 1 Panchadi Phase

(children love repetition and they learn best through it)

Panchadi - 5 Phase Plan

Phase 1 - Introduction - "I see"

Teaching Objective To immerse children in a multi-sensory experience of nature, helping them notice, observe, and wonder without analysis or judgement Learning Outcome By the end of this phase, the child: •Notices elements of nature (wind, flowers, water, animals, sun) •Shows curiosity (looks, points, reacts, imitates) •Responds to sensory cues (sound, movement, visuals) •Engages with the story through observation — not explanation 👉 No expectation of “understanding” yet

Phase 2 - Understanding - "I feel"

Teaching Objective To help children develop an emotional connection with nature, by recognising that nature is alive, responsive and worthy of care Learning Outcome By the end of this phase, the child: •Begins to associate feelings with actions (kind vs not kind) •Recognises that plants and animals are living •Shows early signs of empathy (pauses, reacts, expresses concern) •Responds emotionally to scenes (gentle tone, concern, joy) 👉 Still no abstract reasoning — only feeling + simple interpretation

Phase 3 - Practice - "I do"

Teaching Objective To help children translate emotional understanding into physical action, by engaging in simple, real behaviours that reflect care for nature Learning Outcome By the end of this phase, the child: •Demonstrates gentle interaction with plants, water and surroundings •Participates in nature-based actions (watering, touching, observing) •Begins to act responsibly without constant prompting •Connects action → outcome (water helps plant, stepping hurts plant) 👉 This is still guided behaviour — not yet independent

Phase 4 - Application - "I choose"

Learning Objective To enable children to independently apply caring behaviour toward nature in real-life contexts, making simple choices based on what they have experienced and practised Learning Outcome By the end of this phase, the child: •Makes independent choices (e.g., avoids stepping on plants, waters them when needed) •Applies learning in real environments (classroom, garden, home) •Shows initiative (acts without being told every time) •Demonstrates early understanding of cause → effect in nature 👉 This is where behaviour becomes visible without prompting

Phase 5 - "I become"

Learning Objective To help children express, reinforce and internalise their learning by sharing their understanding of nature with others — through words, actions and creative expression Learning Outcome By the end of this phase, the child: •Expresses ideas about caring for nature (verbally or through actions) •Demonstrates pride in helping and protecting nature •Shares learning with peers (shows, tells, imitates) •Begins to influence others’ behaviour positively 👉 This is early ownership + identity formation
