Phase 2

1. Before Viewing

Goal:
Activate emotional thinking

Teacher sets tone (slightly more reflective now)

Say:
“Last time we saw many things in nature…”
“Today let’s think… how do they feel?”

Quick Prompt:
“If you pluck a flower, is it happy or sad?”

👉 Avoid correction — Ideally listen and drive the discussion

2. During Viewing (with same pause points)

Goal:
Shift from seeing → feeling

👉 Suggestion:
Slightly longer pauses, encourage children to respond emotionally

Teacher Cues During Viewing

✔ Accept emotional responses
✔ Encourage expression
✔ Use tone variation

🚫 Avoid:
Lecturing
Over-explaining
Giving “correct answers”

👉 Let children arrive at meaning

Pause 1 — “Listen…” (Wind moment) Ask: •"When the wind blows over you, how do you feel?" 👉 Let children say: •Cool/ unsteady/ happy Pause 2 — Flowers blocking path Ask: •“Should we step on the flowers?” •“How will the flowers feel?” 👉 Let children say: •sad / hurt Pause 3 — Flowers dancing Ask: •“Are the flowers happy?” •“What do you think made them happy?” 👉 Link: •Wind  Movement  Joy •Positive interaction of human beings with plants Pause 4 — Lake / water entry Ask: •“Who lives here?” •“Is this their home?” 👉 Build idea: •water = home Pause 5 — Fish & water creatures Ask: •“Do we disturb them?” •“Or let them live peacefully?” Pause 6 — Butterfly moment Ask: •“Should we scare it?” •“Or stay calm?” 👉 Model calmness Pause 7 — Sun & heat Ask: •“Can we tell the sun to go away?” •“What can we do instead?” 👉 Introduce: •adjusting to nature Pause 8 — Farm scene Ask: •“Who helps plants grow?” 👉 Guide gently: •sun / water / soil Pause 9 — Impact of nature in the story Ask: •“Is the wind helping or troubling?” 👉 Let children reflect 👉 (No fixed answer needed)

3. Post Viewing

Goal:
Anchor emotional understanding

Discussion
Ask:
“What made you happy in the story?”
“What was not nice?”
“What should we do with plants and animals?”

Activity — Feel & Act
Act out:
hurting a plant ❌
caring for a plant ✅

Ask:
“Which feels better?”

4. Song Integration

Goal:
Meaningful teaching of the song

👉 Teach:
Chorus + first verse (seed + soil)

Ask during song:
“Will it grow without care?”

👉 Build emotional + cause link

5. Moving on to the next phase

Goal: How do you know you are ready to move to the next phase?

Move forward when children:

✔ Say things like:
“Don’t hurt”
“Be gentle”

✔ Show:
emotional reaction
softer tone
awareness of care

✔ Respond correctly to:
“Is this kind?”

👉 If not → repeat phase

6. Key Pedagogical Note

“In this phase, don’t explain behaviour — help the child feel why it matters.”
